On the way back home we went to Lamberts, Home of the Throwed Roll. It was an experience. The kids thought it was awesome to catch the rolls. The food was ridiculous portions. Our table was a show all on its own with the chef salads we ordered. They were the size of a 12" pizza and weighed about 5 lbs! People were stopping to take pictures. It was almost impossible to eat. I got what I didn't finish to go and they brought me a trash bag to bring it home in, nice!

Gibson Guitar Factory
We made a stop at the Gibson Guitar factory. Tara got to play a $3,000 guitar which was pretty cool for her :) We saw a group of men with British accents in the store looking at very expensive guitars, one of them taking pictures with a very expensive camera. I quickly googled who was in town...Elton John, so I've decided they were from his band. I actually asked one of them who they were with and he sort of stumbled over his words and said "oh, we are from a few different bands, we are from England". I told him I sort of figured they were from England with the accents :) I should have snuck a picture!
Civil RIghts Museum
A very moving part of our trip. And that night while looking at facebook I realized Angela Triplett from Christ the King was there that same day. Wish we would have seen one another but love knowing that we were walking along the same sidewalk on that same day.
The Lorraine Motel balcony where Martin Luther King was standing when he was shot.
MLK's room
The bathroom where James Earl Jones was standing in when he shot Martin Luther King through the cracked window.
Peabody Ducks
The Peaboday Ducks... it was super, crazy crowded! Once the parade started it lasted about 30 seconds. The last two pictures are not my pictures- I had to get them online because we were too far away to get any good pics. Glad we did it to check off our "to do" list :) If we went back it would be on a weekday and we would get a good seat near the bar an hour or so before it starts!
Our Carriage RIde
Amy and I decided to be suckers and spend the $45 for the carriage ride through downtown. It was money well spent. I don't think I've ever seen Maura smile so big and for so long.
She waved through most of the ride and was definitely feeling like a princess.
The boys even seemed to enjoy the ride :)
We got a little history of the town on our ride. However, the only thing I remember her telling us was something about a battle where all the people in the town showed up to this spot, put out their blankets to watch the gun battle, got drunk and then continued to drink after the battle after they lost. Good old southern history.
This was our horse, Benjamin

Maura picked this as her favorite car, nice choice!
